St. John’s Wort – the sun plant

# Natural healing | 4. February 2016

St. John’s Wort is considered a source for solar energy. Until the summer solstice on June 21, the plant collects light and stores it in its flowers and leaves. The name of the plant is contributed to the fact that it’s peak bloom season is around June 24, which is the day when John the Baptist’s birthday is celebrated. In early times, it was used during the dark winter period, when “night” came over the soul. Today, studies have shown the effectiveness of St. John’s Wort as an antidepressant. In addition, it has anxiety-reducing, sedative and antidepressant effects. It has a balancing effect on nervous and hormonal fluctuations. You can use the power of this medicinal herb as a tea,  as a single or combined preparation with other supportive herbs like Passiflora incarnata (passion flower) and valerian.  Laif 900 Balance is highly dosed and needs only to be taken once a day.

St. John’s Wort – for the skin
This medicinal plant can also be used well externally. For this, an oily extract is used. The so-called red oil has a soothing effect on our nerves when they are inflamed or painful, such as sciatica, toothache, teething, earache and other neuralgia.
In addition, St. John’s Wort can be used for extremely
dry, itchy, flaking skin and eczema.

Bedan® provides sustainable care products to relieve skin inflammation and assist the natural barrier function of the skin.
